The Adams 12 GT Parents Group has a few more events to round out this semester. We have an evening opportunity for GT parents and caregivers to come together and socialize, our Middle School Madness event right around the corner, and for all those new to the world of giftedness, an excellent opportunity to increase your understanding with a Gifted 101 night being put on by Stargate Charter School. Remember, all these events wouldn't be possible without all the planning help we get from parents just like you. We will begin planning out spring semester soon so we encourage you to reach out to us at info@a12gifted.org to let us know if you'd like to be more involved.

Evening Social for Parents / Caregivers

This meetup is open to any parent or caregiver of a GT or talent pool student in the Adams 12 school district.  Please note, that as much as we love our kids, these evening social hours are for adults only.  Our next social hour will be on Tuesday, October 28th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Billy Birch (11915 Holly St., Thornton, CO 80233).  As always, feel free to join us for any portion of this informal gathering that you are able to attend.  If you have questions, concerns, or just want to talk with other parents who might have similar experiences, this is the place for you!  Please bring your stories and your questions and join us.

Middle School Madness - Registration Opens Tues. Oct 21st!

Date: Friday, November 7th, 6:15-8:30pm

Location: Century Middle School - 13000 Lafayette St, Thornton, CO 80241

COST: $15 per student

Calling all Middle School GT and Talent Pool students for a night of collaboration, fun, and friendly competition!  Race the clock and other teams in this crazy and chaotic combination of Minute-to-Win-It and Great Race inspired challenges, including mindbenders, memory games, and much more!  Prizes will be awarded to winning team members.  Pizza will be served with lots of time to socialize.  (Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate special diets, but students are welcome to bring their own food or eat beforehand.)  You can find more information and register when it opens on Tuesday, October 21st here on our EVENT PAGE.

There is a $15/student event fee that will be paid through PayForIt (instructions will be sent after you register your student). Financial assistance is available upon request.

While no parent programming will be provided (ie. this is a drop off event) participant spots are limited and always fill up, so we will offer priority registration to any MS student who has a parent or HS sibling willing to volunteer at the event. We cannot run all the stations at this event ourselves and need your help to make it happen! Sign Up to Volunteer HERE!

Stargate Charter School - Gifted 101

We are excited to share an upcoming opportunity for the GT community at Stargate Charter School!  Stargate is hosting a one-hour parent education presentation entitled "Gifted 101" on Thursday, November 20th, from 6:00–7:00 PM in their Secondary Commons.  They have generously opened the event to include all GT families in the district.  Come hear from Dr. Robin Greene, Executive Director of Stargate, and Dr. Cynthia Rundquist, Director of Gifted Curriculum & Instruction at Stargate, as they help you get your bearings on topics such as: What does it mean to be gifted? and How can I best support my gifted student?  Childcare and translation services will be provided at no cost to families.  If you’re interested, please scan the QR code on the attached flyer and fill out the Google Form.  For questions about the event, feel free to reach out to kristen.mansure@stargateschool.org
